This lovely regency scroll arm sofa has parts missing, broken, a finish that has been covered over with dark shellac a few times too many. we have removed almost all the old finish, repaired the broken pieces and are now adding springs to the seating as well make the seating area a little deeper. As such extensive repairs are needed to restore the lovely scroll arms, we will remount them raised up higher to allow space for seat cushions.

The old saber legs had typically broken so I"m making new ones with some old bits of mahogany I happen to have left over from another piece that I used the top from years ago and left didn't use much off, which is a happy coincidence for this sofa!

I think it will be ready for sale and/or upholstery within weeks here you see the new french polish coming around at different stages.
